On April 6, the fifth meeting of the China-France Business Council (Cinquieme reunion du Conseil d’entreprises franco-chinos) was held at the Great Hall of the People. Chinese President Xi Jinping and French President Emmanuel Macron attended the closing ceremony and delivered speeches. The conference was co-sponsored by the Ministry of Commerce of China and the Ministry of Economy, Finance, and Industrial and Digital Sovereignty of France, and co-hosted by the China Chamber of Commerce for Import and Export of Machinery and Electronic Products and the France-China Committee (Comité France-Chine), with an aim of building a platform for business exchanges between the two countries and promoting economic and trade cooperation between the two countries. More than 180 representatives from governments, embassies, trade associations, and the business circle of the two countries attended the meeting. Zhou Yuxian, party secretary and chairman of CNBM, party secretary and chairman of China National Building Material Co., Ltd., was invited to the meeting as a representative of Chinese enterprises in the China-France Business Council, and made a speech around the theme of "Cooperation for Prosperity and Development: Digital Economy, Industrial Transformation, Consumption, and Health".
